Core MHI technology has been utilised in the development of the lithium-ion battery cells which in comparison with other similar products exhibit higher energy density, larger capacity and longer life. The batteries have already been proven in stationary applications such as battery racks for office buildings and apartments, and in mobile applications such as hybrid forklift trucks and electric buses. The verification of the containerised ESS system is currently underway at MHI's Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery
Works where a 1MW system is in operation. The containerised nature and scalability of this technology means that it can be offered in multi megawatt form as a power source for a wide variety of applications including large scale outdoor events, construction sites and mobile power charging for electric vehicles, as well as power supply stabilisation and emergency power supply.
