Energy Storage System

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries have developed a containerised  Energy Storage System (ESS) based upon lithium-ion battery technology. The product is specifically designed to be scalable in size and easily moved, allowing a wide range of applications across the energy sector. In particular it is expected that the technology will play an important role in storing and regulating the output from variable renewable technologies such as solar and wind.

The ESS solution is expected to be commercially available shortly following proposed test projects in the US, Asia and Europe.
